Product Description

Frenchic Lazy Range paint is the perfect choice as furniture paint. If you are building, restoring or repairing furniture then this is ideal to give you a wonderful professional looking finish. This has been designed as a high quality furniture paint as it has self levelling properties meaning it leaves very little or no brush strokes.

It has a lovely soft, low sheen and works great on many surfaces including wood, laminate and metal. It is smooth and odourless. The Lazy Range from Frenchic is water based and has a wax infusion and is self priming and self sealing so is very simple to use. It is used extensively by trade professionals but also by anyone just starting any furniture project. It has won a Queens award for innovation and is particularly useful to anyone with time pressure.

It is an all natural chalk and mineral paint that has minimal VOC content and is certified UKCA and EN71-3 compliant, making it safe for use on children’s toys. There are no toxins or added VOC’s.

This is water resistant too so ideal for use in the kitchen for the likes of a kitchen makeover or freshening up kitchen cupboards and units etc. It is touch dry and re-coatable in just one hour (but keep any soft furnishings away from any painted surface for 48 hours). Any area of heavy use needs a three week cure time before use. This is just for indoor use.

General information:

  • Water based
  • Suitable for interior use only
  • Chalk and mineral paint formulated for wooden furniture, laminate, metal
  • Suitable for walls – in which case thinning with up to 10% tap water is advised
  • Minimal VOC content with virtually no odour
  • UKCA and EN71-3 certified (safe for use on children’s toys) EN71-3:2019+A1:2021
  • Ingredients: Chalk, Clay, Titanium Dioxide, Resin, Talcum, Preservative, Wax
  • Self-priming – no primer or undercoat required
  • Self-levelling – meaning little to no brushmarks is achievable
  • Self-sealing – does not require a top coat for durability
  • Finish – soft, low sheen

Coverage

  • A 750ml tin will provide a coat of up to 12.5m2. For a durable finish, a minimum of 2 coats is required, so your 750ml tin should provide full coverage for just over 6m2 on non-porous surfaces like laminate or metal.
  • Porous, or ‘thirsty’ surfaces like bare wood or MDF, tend to absorb paint meaning additional coats are likely to be required to achieve a durable finish. In this case, your 750ml tin will provide less than 6m2 of full coverage. If you apply the paint too thinly, durability may be affected.

Preparation

  • Ensure surfaces are in suitable condition for painting – clean, dry, free from wax, grease or penetrating substances and in sound condition. If previously painted, remove loose or flaking paint.
  • Surface preparation required in addition to the above – clean with Frenchic Sugar Soap, rinse and dry thoroughly. Hand-sand sufficiently to abrade the surface. Wipe off any dust, paint away!
  • Take care on opening the tin lid – a Frenchic tin opener is recommended.
  • Stir thoroughly with a wide implement, such as a Paint Paddle, prior to each use.

Application, drying and curing (hardening)

  • Apply with a good quality brush or a roller. Also suitable for spraying – thin with up to 15% tap water and apply additional coat(s).
  • To allow self-levelling, avoid overworking the paint
  • Allow a minimum of 1 hour between coats (even if the paint feels touch dry).
  • Curing (hardening) time is 2-3 weeks in normal conditions. Treat gently until curing is complete.

Clean up and storage

  • Reseal tin after use. Clean up any spills immediately with water. Wash brushes in warm, soapy water.
  • Do not store where the tin could be subjected to damp, frost, freezing or high temperatures.

Bulky goods:

Bulky goods will be delivered on pallets and will be unloaded by the courier. All bulky goods are delivered kerbside. Unfortunately, the delivery company will not convey the goods into premises for storage unless agreed in advance. Access to the delivery location must be suitable for a truck and failure to provide suitable level ground for operating pallet truck may result in refusal to deliver by the courier. Please note delivery operators will apply safe procedures in relation to ongoing Public Health considerations..

Exceptional Goods:

Some building materials are extremely bulky and not practical to deliver outside Co. Sligo e.g. concrete blocks, tonne bags of sand or gravel or some lengths of timber. We have highlighted where this is the case in bold red writing. If you do order these products we will contact you to see if you want to pay an additional delivery charge or if you wish to cancel the order. Please do not take offence to this as some bulky goods may cost much more to deliver than the value of the goods. We are based in Sligo so can offer a local delivery service in this area using our own vehicles.

If there is a forklift or teleporter available onsite, we would appreciate if you could tell us in advance by filling out the special delivery notes when completing the order.

The Seller or the courier company will not be held responsible for any damage to goods or persons caused by the goods being unloaded by the buyer.

**Please contact us in advance of ordering if unsure of the above**

General:

Delivery shall be within a time period agreed between the Buyer and Seller and the Seller shall use its best endeavours to ensure that delivery takes place within the period agreed.
