Using SuperFOIL Insulation:
Pitched Roof:
SuperFOIL is ideal for pitched roofs in warm, cold, or hybrid roof systems.
It can be used in single or multiple layers and combined with traditional insulation like mineral wool or foam board.
Install as a continuous layer to avoid thermal bridging, which can reduce performance by up to 15%.
It can be installed above or below the rafters.
Simply roll it out, staple across the rafters, overlap the edges, and seal with SuperFOIL tape.
For better performance, use a counter batten to create an air gap before adding plasterboard.
Flat Roof:
SuperFOIL is perfect for flat roofs due to its high vapour control resistance (1200MNs/g), reducing the risk of condensation.
Install as a continuous layer, sealing all edges with SuperFOIL tape. If using a single-ply membrane, additional ventilation is typically not required, but a condensation analysis is recommended.
Walls:
SuperFOIL is versatile, suitable for both new builds and retrofits, in timber or solid wall constructions.
It achieves excellent U-value targets and can be used internally or externally.
For timber-framed structures, SuperFOIL fits perfectly between studs to create air gaps without additional battens.
Just 70mm of SuperFOIL on solid walls can exceed current building regulations.
Install by rolling it out, stapling it in place, and sealing overlaps with SuperFOIL tape.
Floors:
SuperFOIL is ideal for suspended timber floors.
It offers superior performance compared to traditional insulation, with minimal material needed.
It also creates an airtight seal, preventing drafts and reducing condensation risk.
Testing and Compliance:
SuperFOIL products are independently tested and comply with UK and EU regulations.
Thermal performance is confirmed by testing to BS EN ISO 12667 and ISO 8301 by BBA (British Board of Agrément).
