Frenchic Frensheen is a decorative metallic mineral powder designed to create shimmering finishes on furniture and craft projects.
Ideal for highlighting handles, carved details, mouldings, furniture edges and other decorative features.
Frensheen is supplied as a powder and must be mixed with a compatible Frenchic finishing product before application.
Mix with Frenchic Finishing Coat or Frenchic Tuff Top Coat to create a metallic paint-like glaze.
Alternatively, combine with a compatible Frenchic Furniture Wax to create decorative metallic wax finishes.
Increasing the amount of powder produces a stronger metallic effect, while mixing different Frensheen colours allows you to create customised shades.
Suitable for interior projects and certain exterior applications, depending on the finishing product used and the manufacturer's instructions.

Coverage
A 75g pot provides approximately 3m² of coverage when mixed with a suitable Frenchic finishing product.
Actual coverage will depend on the amount of powder added, the mixing medium, surface condition and desired metallic effect.
Stronger metallic effects may require additional powder or further applications.
Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, sound and free from grease, wax, loose paint and other contaminants before application.
Remove loose or flaking coatings from previously painted surfaces.
Prepare the surface according to the manufacturer's instructions for the selected Frenchic finishing product.
Lightly sand smooth surfaces where appropriate to provide a suitable key for adhesion.
Remove all sanding dust before applying the mixture.
Test the chosen colour and mixture on a small, inconspicuous area before beginning the main project.
Mixing Frenchic Frensheen
Place a small quantity of your chosen Frenchic top coat or compatible furniture wax into a suitable mixing container.
Carefully add a small amount of Frensheen powder, as the powder is very lightweight and should be handled gently to avoid dispersing it into the air.
Mix slowly and thoroughly until the powder is evenly distributed.
When using Frenchic Finishing Coat or Tuff Top Coat, aim for a smooth, creamy, paint-like consistency.
Add more powder gradually to increase the strength of the metallic effect.
Avoid adding so much powder that the mixture becomes grainy or gritty.
If the mixture becomes too thick, add a little more of the chosen finishing product to adjust the consistency.
When mixing with compatible Frenchic Clear Wax or Browning Wax, a roughly equal quantity of wax and powder may be used as a starting point, following Frenchic's guidance for the selected product.
Stir the mixture thoroughly before and during application to keep the metallic powder evenly distributed.
Application and Drying
Apply the prepared Frensheen mixture using a suitable good-quality brush.
Work evenly across the surface or apply carefully to handles, carved details, mouldings and other decorative features.
For larger decorative areas, masking tape may be used to create stripes, borders and individual patterns.
Drying time will depend on the chosen mixing medium and application conditions.
Frenchic provides an approximate drying time of 60 minutes as a general guide.
Always follow the drying and recoating instructions for the top coat or wax used in the mixture.
Apply additional coats where necessary to achieve the desired metallic appearance.
Once the decorative finish has dried sufficiently, apply a final layer of the same compatible top coat or wax, following Frenchic's instructions.
Interior and Exterior Use
Frensheen can be used for indoor furniture and decorative projects when mixed with a suitable Frenchic finishing product.
Exterior suitability depends on the properties of the selected mixing medium and the surface being treated.
For outdoor applications, Frenchic recommends using a compatible weatherproof finishing product, such as Frenchic Finishing Coat, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure appropriate weather conditions and allow sufficient drying and curing time before exposing the finished surface to outdoor conditions.
Cleaning and Storage
Keep unused Frensheen powder in its original container with the lid securely closed.
Store in a dry location and avoid conditions that could affect the powder or packaging.
Prepare only the amount of mixture required for your project where possible.
Mixed Frensheen glaze may be kept in a suitable airtight container for a short period, but can thicken or harden over time.
Stir stored mixtures thoroughly before reuse and check their condition before application.
Clean brushes and equipment according to the instructions for the finishing product used as the mixing medium.
Follow the manufacturer's handling and safety precautions when working with the powder and mixed product.
