The Unilin (previously Xtratherm) Thin R Insulated Loft Decking Boards are perfect for floor decking in a loft or attic and are a composite product of 75mm high performance foil faced PIR Insulation with 11mm tough OSB Board.

This is used to create safe access into insulated attic, loft and roof spaces and ideal for use in both new builds and renovations or upgrading projects in existing properties.

This XT/Walk-R product comes with all the premium quality you would expect from Unilin (previously Xtratherm) and complies with health and safety guidelines.

Giving appropriate consideration to the energy efficiency of any home will help you lower your energy costs and create a cosier and more comfortable living environment.

A primary approach to this is insulating the attic or loft but this often creates access issues for getting at water tanks, aerials, services and fittings that are located there.

These Insulated Loft Decking Boards are the solution to that - they improve the insulation in the attic or loft and help create easy access so you can get around safely.

The resistance value of any thickness of Unilin (previously Xtratherm) insulation can be ascertained by simply dividing the thickness of the material (in metres) by its lambda value, for example:

Lambda 0.022 W/mk and thickness 75mm -> 0.075/ 0.022 -> R-Value = 3.40. R-Values should be rounded down to the nearest 0.05 (m2 K/W).


Health and Safety guideline information:

“In every roof space where there are cold water tanks or other fitted appliances or services, the Contractor, for H&S reasons must construct a permanent boarded walkway from the roof access point to the tank ball valve position and / or the appliance location. This walkway should be supported above the first layer of insulation to prevent any compaction of insulation below the walkway.”

Specification Clauses example:

The roof insulation shall be Unilin (previously Xtratherm) Thin-R Walk-R manufactured to EN 13165 by Xtratherm, comprising a rigid Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core between low emissivity foil facings bonded to OSB Board.

The Walk-R 86mm with _ _ _mm Mineral Wool to achieve a U value of __ _ _W/m2K for the roof element. To be installed in accordance with instructions issued by Xtratherm.
