Domestic Grease Trap - 40 Litre without Lid

The domestic grease trap minimises pipe blockages by reducing the amount of grease (and other fat/oil based substances) entering the drainage system.

This innovative product operates on the principal of gravity separation.

Waste water enters the trap from source (eg a kitchen sink).

Oil/fat naturally rise to the surface of the water and is captured as a semi-solid layer.

Heavier waste solids sink and get deposited in a filter bucket at the bottom.

The intermediate “clean” water layer is washed through the filter bucket and continues along the drainage system via the suitably positioned outlet pipe.

To ensure proper maintenance the system should be inspected on a regular basis.

For best practice the filter basket should be emptied once a month (subject to usage).

The filter bucket has a sufficiently long handle to prevent the user coming in contact with the waste when emptying.

The JFC domestic grease trap is easy to install (Instructions provided) and suitable for new and existing waste water systems with 110mm piping.

Dimensions:

  • 765mm x 425mm x 665mm

Installation information:

  • The Grease Trap should be sited externally and close to the discharge point. (e.g. under the footpath outside the Kitchen)
  • Prepare an excavation with the following dimensions - Length: 950mm - Width: 550mm - Depth: dependant on pipe work
  • Install a 75mm concrete base under the unit ensuring the inlet connection is inline with the inlet pipe
  • Connect the inlet & outlet of the Grease Trap to the appropriate branch drain using a suitable collar.
  • Cut the riser to the required level and install into the top of the grease trap
  • Fill the main chamber with clean tap water
  • Insert the perforated filter bucket into the grease trap and fit access cover.
  • Double check all connections and levels.
  • Backfill with pea gravel or similar material in pedestrian areas
  • Backfill with 25N concrete in lightly trafficked areas (e.g. car park)
  • Seek advise from a structural engineer for HGV applications
  • There is a 15mm difference in the level between the inlet and outlet
  • You can see the installation guide here
