Product Description
The Passive House Systems Loft Stairs Hood is an easy and effective solution for insulating your loft stairs while maintaining convenient access to your loft or attic. Designed to address a common weak point in many homes—the loft opening—this hood provides a thermal and airtight barrier, sealing off a vulnerable area that often leads to significant energy loss.
Benefits of the PHS Loft Stairs Hood:
- Energy Efficiency: By reducing heat loss through the loft stairs, the hood significantly enhances your home’s thermal performance, helping to lower heating bills.
- Improves Indoor Air Quality: Acting as a thermal and airtight barrier, the hood prevents dust and insulation from escaping into your living spaces, keeping them confined to the attic and ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment.
- Flexible and Lightweight: The hood is easy to handle and manoeuvre during installation, making it perfect for DIY enthusiasts.
- Heavy-Duty Zippers: Equipped with two robust zippers, the hood allows easy access to the loft while maintaining an airtight seal.
The PHS Loft Stairs Hood is specifically designed for retrofitting on standard, non-airtight existing stairs. It addresses the common issue of poor sealing around loft hatches, which can cause a ‘chimney effect’—where warm air is drawn into the unheated loft space, wasting valuable energy. Installation is straightforward and takes less than 30 minutes, providing an immediate reduction in energy losses.
Whether you’re looking to improve your home’s energy efficiency, reduce drafts, or simply maintain a cleaner living environment, the PHS Loft Stairs Hood is a reliable solution that offers lasting benefits.
