Product Description
Unlock the Benefits of a Limescale-Free Home
Product Specifications:
Dimensions: 151mm W x 165mm H x 161mm D
Connection Size: 15mm compression fittings
Included: 800g of Combiphos for initial setup
How It Works:
Combimate is installed directly on the cold water supply to your home or a specific appliance. As water flows through the device, it comes into contact with Combiphos, a polyphosphate compound. This compound coats the inside of your pipework and appliances with a protective layer that prevents limescale formation and soft water corrosion.
Installation Options:
Whole-House Supply: Plumbed in after the stop-valve on the cold water supply. The device’s white removable divider tray should be removed, allowing the full 800g bag of Combiphos to be used.
Single Appliance: Placed on the cold water supply to a single appliance (e.g., a boiler). The red removable divider tray should be left in place, and only the top half of the dome should be filled with Combiphos, extending the refill interval to two years.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is limescale, and why should I prevent it?
Limescale is a chalky residue formed by calcium and magnesium minerals in hard water. It accumulates on surfaces like taps, showerheads, and inside appliances, which can reduce efficiency and potentially cause damage over time.
Where is limescale most commonly found in the home?
Limescale typically forms in areas where water is heated, such as in boilers, pipes, shower screens, and kettles. It can clog pipes, damage appliances, and increase energy consumption.
Why choose Combimate over other water treatment systems?
Combimate stands out due to its easy installation, no power requirement, and minimal maintenance needs. It uses safe, food-grade polyphosphates and comes with a lifetime guarantee against limescale when installed and maintained correctly.
Does Combimate need a separate drinking water supply?
No, Combimate does not require a separate drinking water supply. The treated water is safe for all household uses, including drinking, as the polyphosphate dosing is minimal and harmless.
Can I replace the Combiphos crystals myself?
Yes, replacing the Combiphos crystals is simple and can be done without special tools. Just follow the instructions provided with the unit.
Is heat a factor in where I install my Combimate?
Yes, it’s best to install Combimate in a cool location away from heat sources like boilers or hot water pipes, as excessive heat can cause the Combiphos crystals to dissolve more quickly.
